Anita Vedres
Anita Vedres, a Dublin-born violinist from a musical family, studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Musik Conservatorium in Utrecht. She later specialized in baroque violin under Maya Homburger, earning a first-class Master’s degree through the Cork School of Music.
A founding member of the Irish Baroque Orchestra, Anita has performed extensively in Ireland and abroad, contributing to numerous recordings that revive Ireland’s 18th-century music. She is also a former member of the Irish Chamber Orchestra, with which she still performs regularly, and collaborates with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra.
Anita’s freelance career spans a diverse range of repertoire, from early 17th-century works to contemporary compositions. She has performed with leading chamber ensembles such as Camerata Kilkenny, Crash Ensemble, Musici Ireland, and the Robinson Panoramic Quartet. Passionate about opera, she frequently appears with Irish National Opera and has performed for many years at Wexford Festival Opera.
Dedicated to music education, Anita works with young musicians through her private teaching practice and as a tutor for Dublin Youth Orchestras, Ceol na Mara, and various Music Generation outreach programs.
